PC-Doctor Error Code Wizard First Tool To Take Advantage Of Comptia Standard Error Codes
New Tool For Technicians Saves Time And Money

RENO, Nev. (Nov. 14, 2007) — PC-Doctor, Inc. today announced it has released the PC-Doctor Error Code Wizard designed to support the updated set of Standard Error Codes made available by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the leading trade association for the world's information technology (IT) industry.

Targeted to reduce service costs and provide better insight into service issues, PC-Doctor's Error Code Wizard simplifies the use of the CompTIA Standard Error Codes. The use of standard error codes with accurate diagnostics (like those provided by PC-Doctor) allows manufacturers of computer and peripheral equipment to perform quantitative root cause analysis, which can save the industry millions of dollars in reduced No Fault Found/No Trouble Found rates.

To simplify the implementation of the CompTIA Standard Error Codes for service providers and technicians, the PC-Doctor Error Code Wizard offers the accuracy of a point and click interface, which reduces the chance of an invalid code being used. With a few clicks of the mouse, a service technician can paste the complete error code into his or her tracking software. There is no learning curve, the technician just answers the questions and pastes the results into existing tracking tools. The new codes were developed with the involvement of more than a dozen companies, including Best Buy, Canon, Cisco Systems, CompuCom, DecisionOne, Dell, Fujitsu Siemens, Gateway, HP, IBM, Lenovo, Packard Bell, Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, Unisys, and Xerox. Many of these companies require service technicians who repair their equipment under warranty to use the Standard Error Codes, while others strongly recommend that they be used.
